Aircraft Spins Out of Control into Palm Fronds at Frequented Southern California Shoreline
A helicopter soaring above a crowded coastal coastline unexpectedly began spiraling wildly, finally dropping height and smashing into a row of palm fronds as beachgoers observed.
Footage posted on the internet capture the helicopter beginning to twirl near the beach then plunging in the direction of the border of the shore, where it gets stuck between palms and a staircase close to the shoreline route.
Emergency Response Update
The Huntington Beach fire department said five persons were rushed to the hospital involving two who were in the chopper and were “extracted safely from the crash site” after the incident on Saturday.
Three individuals on the pavement were hurt. Details on their wounds were not yet released.
The cause of the crash was still under investigation.
